community-driven public space intervention

Interviews comic
The project addresses the need for sheltered public space in Lower Marsh Market, which was determined by rigorous site research and community engagement. Providing a seating area, buskers’ space and public toilets for the market aims to bring in more visitors to rejuvenate the area after the pandemic.
Model detail
The design has been driven by the unique conditions of the site which is located above the famous Leake Street graffiti tunnel. The strategic placement of the timber frame structure is respecting the extensive preexisting landscaping, while bringing out the vibrance of the tunnel into the street.
