Community hub celebrating and cultivating audio culture

The Soundscape is a community hub that celebrates and cultivates audio culture in Elephant and Castle. The project offers recording studios, a radio station with an auditorium, collaborative space, and a public cafe. The design is based on the notions of sharing and experiencing sound. The main feature of the building are copperclad recording pods that are connected by pathways with generous public space which promotes creative collaboration among the users. The entire space is then wrapped in chainmail facade to maintain a light aesthetic and encourage an engagement with the street.
