SENSORIUM

experimental event space for sensory performance

Sensorium sketch
An immersive environment, inspired by the perception needs of the neurodivergent population, comprising four performance spaces, each designed to address specific sensory needs. This gives the audience the agency to experience performances at a level of stimulation they find agreeable.

Section
The sensory spaces expand beyond the Sensorium into the urban fabric as a physical manifestation of the disruption to the world designed for the neurotypical.
Threshold hall
The space is entered through a low-light hall. The sensory deprivation at the threshold is designed to help regulate the nervous system and to prevent sensory overload.
Godot
In a promenade theatre performance, the audience follows the actors through space. The space itself then becomes a part of the set and adds tactile and proprioceptive elements to the experience.
